By in Neighborhood News with 0 Comments

With winter on the way out and spring starting to reveal its greens from underneath snow piles, there’s no better time to reflect on science, nature, and the wonders of our universe. Join stargazers from all walks of life on an awe-inspiring journey through our universe at the Parker Wildlife Experience Astronomy Night.

The Wildlife Experience Parker Co

Stargazing at the Wildlife Experience in Parker, CO

Led by retired astronomy professor Win Pendleton, formally of the University of Colorado Denver, Astronomy Night/Spring Equinox will leave you amazed by how vast and magical our universe really is. The night starts off with a presentation by Win discussing the Spring Equinox—the official first day of spring—and the solar system. Witness the world through the eyes of an astronaut at the Science on a Sphere exhibit and view spectacular images of the stars, planets, and the other larger-than-life phenomena of our galaxy.

The second part of the night brings you outside for a campfire and tasty s’mores, giving you a chance to gaze at the illuminated night sky. Take a closer look at the moon, the planets, and the stars burning billions of light years away through the telescope, and learn what to look for in the vast expanse that twinkles above you.

The Wildlife Experience Astronomy Night is part of the center’s outdoor programs, which offer guests a way to get up close and personal with the natural world that surrounds them. From fishing to survival skills, archery to GPS, the Wildlife Experience’s outdoor programs help guests to get in touch with nature, learn recreational skills, enjoy the beauty of Colorado, and understand the importance of conservation.
