Outdoor Phillip S. Miller Park Amphitheater in Castle Rock Now Open

The long awaited outdoor Phillip S. Miller Park amphitheater in Castle Rock is finally open!

Phillip S. Miller Park, which is quite possibly the most impressive park in all of Castle Rock, has been under construction since 2013. The park is being built in sections, and Phase 2 is now complete. Covering more than 300-acres, the park offers a trail network, a climbing wall, zip lines, athletic fields, and much more.

Phase 1

Phillip S. Miller Park’s first phase of construction began in 2013 and includes a large, multi-mile trail network of paved and native surfaces, an adventure playground covering 2.5 acres of land, a synthetic turf athletic field, a zip line course (operated by Castle Rock Zip Line Tours), and an indoor activity center that includes a large pool with lap lanes, water slide and whirlpool.

Phase 2

The grand opening of Phillip S. Miller Park’s phase 2 took place on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Construction on phase 2 began in March 2015, and includes an amphitheater and plaza, and an event center. The plaza includes picnic areas, an outdoor fireplace, play features, and much more.

The new outdoor Phillip S. Miller Park amphitheater is a venue that will host events included in the Town of Castle Rock’s 2016 Signature Events. The event series includes a Celebration Concert Series, community festivals, and more. To date, there are 20 events scheduled for 2016.

The Celebration Concert Series that will take place in the Phillip S. Miller Park amphitheater includes the following:

  • Shooter Jennings – May 21, 2016
  • The Fab Four – June 11, 2016
  • The Colorado Symphony – July 30, 2016
  • The Marshall Tucker Band – August 27, 2016
  • Starship featuring Mickey Thomas – September 24, 2016
