Anyone who has lived in the Denver Metro area for more than a couple of years has probably heard of The Wildlife Experience. Located in Parker, Colorado near the intersection of I-25 and Lincoln Ave., The Wildlife Experience was a museum that featured exhibits focused on wildlife conservation, natural history, and various other wildlife subjects.
The museum was a favorite destination for visitors of all ages with an interest in learning more about wildlife and the great outdoors.
In 2014, The Wildlife Experience facility was donated to the University of Colorado. At that time, the facility became known as CU South Denver.
The Museum is Still Open!
Despite the change in ownership, many of The Wildlife Experience exhibits are still available to visitors – including a large wildlife art collection, permanent educational displays such as Globeology, Science on a Sphere, the Discovery Den, and special exhibits that focus on art and natural history. Also available, are a variety of events for all ages such as Family Fun Day, Astronomy Nights, The Art and Wine Festival and more.
The facility is still home to an impressive movie theater that shows large-format films on a 60 x 45-foot screen. The theater features DTS digital surround sound and RealD 3D Technology.
The theater has been host to the extremely popular annual Fly Fishing Film Tour, or F3T as fans call it, now in its tenth year running. This annual film tour makes its way through over 50 cities across the United States and Canada.
