Parker Rec Center Expansion – Phase 1 Complete!

It’s an exciting time to live in Parker, CO! The days are getting warmer, school’s almost out, and the first phase of the Parker Rec Center expansion is almost complete! Stop by the rec center anytime from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16th to witness the big reveal and join your friends and neighbors in celebrating this fantastic community improvement.

What’s New at the Parker Rec Center?

About 20 years after the Parker Recreation Center first opened in 1994, the town is embarking on its first major expansion and renovation project, bringing exciting improvements to its facilities and programs for the whole town to enjoy. With over 30,000 square feet of new or renovated space, some of the major improvements planned include:

  • Zero-Depth Pool with lazy river, waterslide, aquatic climbing wall, therapy pool, and more,
  • 8 family changing rooms,
  • Children’s party room,
  • Classrooms/child care rooms,
  • Fitness studio,
  • Renovated locker rooms,
  • Larger parking lot,
  • And more!

Even though the rec center has been open during construction, this Saturday’s reveal is the first time that residents will have the opportunity to view the brand new facilities. During phase 1, a half-gymnasium, children’s party room, classrooms, men’s locker room, fitness studio, and expanded lobby were completed. The second phase will be completed this summer and will include the exciting new interior leisure pool. The big Phase I Reveal this Saturday will include self-guided tours, food and beverages, games, prizes, giveaways, and more.

Parker Rec Center Expansion

Last month, on April 20th, the Parker Rec Center began offering new group fitness classes in its just-completed additional fitness studio. Try out these fun, new classes that will get your body moving and your heart pumping:

  • willPower & grace—A barefoot workout that incorporates postures with drills to strengthen and condition your body.
  • TRX Suspension—Use your bodyweight to push your body to its limits using suspension and resistance.
  • INSANITY—Use interval training to engage your entire body for an intense cardio workout that will boost your metabolism and burn excess calories.
  • Cardio Force—A unique combination of kickboxing, drills, and weight-bearing movements that will strengthen your heart and muscles.

Other amenities include low-cost child care for guests, more than 70 group classes including yoga, cycling, pilates, and boot camp, nutrition coaching, personal training, a weight room, and cardio equipment. The rec center also has special programs aimed at the specific health issues of children and senior citizens. The H20’Brien Pool, which features waterslides, a spray garden, a lap pool, and more, will open for the season on Saturday, May 23.

The Parker Recreation Center is located at 17301 Lincoln Ave next to Challenger Regional Park and King Soopers. If you’ve never been before, now is one of the best times to become a member. Passes, both short and long-term, gain you admission to the Parker Recreation Center and Parker Fieldhouse. Individual adult memberships are $444 for the year and child and senior memberships are $300. Take advantage of the special discount for an annual family membership for $732.
