Summer fun is back for Castle Rock CO residents starting with the Classic Rock Cruise In Car Show 2-Day Event on June 16 & 17, 2017.

The warm temperatures, sunny days, and balmy breezes of summer provide the perfect setting for road trips with family and friends, working on that vintage car that’s been sitting in the garage, or even just cruising with the windows down and the radio up.

Fuel your love for the great American automobile with two car shows coming to Castle Rock this summer: the Classic Rock Cruise In Car Show and Hotrods in the Village.

Classic Cars and Old-Fashioned Fun from the Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock

Celebrate classic cars and learn a little about their history at the Classic Rock Cruise-In Care Show presented by the Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock (VCC) – and learn about the history of vintage automobiles, enjoy a massive car exhibition of unique cars, sleek hotrods, and historic trucks.

Classic Rock Cruise-In Car Show Schedule:

Friday, June 16, 2017:
Get ready for a street party, live concerts, food, and an all-around fun atmosphere as the Classic Rock Cruise-In Car Show weekend event kicks-off! The location of the event is on Wilcox Street between 3rd and 5th Streets, where traffic will be blocked so event-goers can enjoy the celebration! From 6pm to 9pm on Friday night, enjoy two live bands – Kerry Pastine and The Crime Scene. This is a family-friendly street party that is open to the public, and all ages are welcome to attend. Food and beverages available from a variety of vendors at the event.

Saturday, June 17, 2017:
You won’t want to miss the 9th Annual Classic Rock Cruise-In Car Show where more than 300 cars will be on display from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. As a family friendly event that is open to the public, there is something for event-goers of all ages to enjoy. Located in Wilcox Square (and surrounding areas), there will be several street closures in the vicinity to allow for a traffic-free festival. Sponsors and vendors will be present, who will be selling food and beverages, and entertainment including music, bounce houses, games, and other fun activities. Bring the whole family and enjoy the day in Downtown Castle Rock! Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged – as well as sunscreen and comfortable shoes.

More About the Classic Rock Cruise-In Car Show:
Over 300 automobiles of all shapes, sizes, colors, and models will be on display for the 2017 Classic Rock Cruise In, celebrating the diversity, innovation, and long history of the car. With live music, vendors, cars, a classic 1950s vibe, and the restaurants and shops of downtown Castle Rock, this free event is a hit for the whole family.

Got a hot set of wheels? Enter it into the Cruise In and you might win. Prizes include best in each class, Best in Show, and even a Mayor’s Choice. More information on how to enter your car is available on the VCC website.

The Castle Rock Cruise In Car Show is organized and produced by a partnership of the Vintage Car Club and the Castle Rock Downtown Merchants Association, and in 2013 was awarded the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence as the Best Promotional Event in Colorado. The proceeds from the show are shared by the Downtown Merchants and the VCC. The VCC in turn donates a portion of its share to support several local charities.

Hotrods in the Village

A smaller but no less exciting event, Hotrods in the Village, is held each year in Castle Pines Village.

Event Date: Saturday, August 12, 2017

Location: 880 W. Happy Canyon Rd – at the Intersection of Highway 85 and Happy Canyon Rd.

Experience an intimate atmosphere among the small boutiques and eateries of the Village while attending the Hotrods in the Village show. This event allows proud car owners to display their vintage or unusual cars, and share their passion for the automobile with neighbors and spectators.

Now in its 9th year, Hotrods in the Village is an easy-going “Show and Shine” annual event that is highly enjoyable!

With live music, food from local Castle Pines Village merchants, trophies, dash plaques, and vendors selling cold beer (with sales benefiting the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation), this event is perfect for a hot August day.

Even though there is no pre-registration required, space is limited to the first 90 cars. It’s recommended that you visit the Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock’s website to pre-register before arriving at the event.

There are a twelve entry classes which are assigned at registration time. The entry fee is $20 per vehicle and can be paid via cash or check upon registration.

Hot Rods In The Village Show

The Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock was founded in 2007 with the mission of preserving and restoring classic cars and works to provide information and fun to everyone who loves vintage cars through annual events, tours, and meetings.

The VCC is a non-profit with members from all walks of life who are passionate about automobiles. Vehicle ownership is not required to become a member. If you do own a vintage car, the VCC would love to know about it. All vehicles are welcome from domestic to foreign, stock or modified, sports cars, trucks, hotrods, antiques, and more.
